Therapy sessions with children are 1:1 or including parents in child focused sessions. Play therapy or creative techniques are used for young children where the child uses playful, expressive arts and crafts, symbols, metaphor, role-play etc to help them express and process any issues. For older children creative techniques such as story, art & crafts or metaphor may be used alongside talking, according to the child’s needs. Parents are expected to play an active role in the child therapy process or engage in a zoom or face to face sessions as needed.
For adults zoom or walk & talk sessions are available.
Walk & Talk Therapy takes place outside in nature in the South Dublin area, instead of in a traditional office space. Sometimes it can feel easier to walk side-by-side and talk while in an outside environment. If the weather is rainy we can always meet online!
You will be asked to complete a one-page form exploring the issue and therapy goals ahead of the first session. More information about this will be provided to you upon booking.

Dr. Victoria’s books use the power of symbol and metaphor to help build emotional resilience. For some young people, words are not enough, and it is difficult to engage verbally. Through the metaphor of a story the child can feel seen. They can also learn important skills through the plot and characters, which they can take with them on their own journey through life.
